Upgrading of Older Control Systems

Don't wait until an outdated component brings production to a halt. We'll identify risk factors and plan a modernization with minimal impact on production.

It works. So why should we change it?

Because the best time to modernize is while the machine is still running.

As control systems age, spare parts gradually become harder to obtain. When a failure occurs, the main problem may not be the price of the component, but the time needed to get production running again.

Planned modernization is easier than dealing with an emergency during an unplanned production shutdown.

What can we modernize?

  • PLCs and control systems
  • safety PLCs and programmable safety relays
  • 1st generation PNOZmulti (PNOZ m0p, m1p, m2p, m3p and Multi mini from PILZ)
  • HMIs and operator panels
  • industrial communication systems
  • other obsolete control and safety components

We do not simply replace components. We make sure your machine can continue operating safely and reliably.

How do we proceed?

1. Assess

We identify critical components and assess the risk associated with their failure.

2. Verify

We verify spare-part availability, compatibility, software and program backups.

3. Propose a solution

We recommend what to modernize, what to plan for and what simply needs to be monitored. We can then implement the appropriate solution.

Typical example: older PNOZmulti

Are you still using PNOZ m1p, m0p, m2p, m3p or Multi mini? These systems are still in operation in many machines, but their production has been discontinued and spare parts are becoming increasingly difficult to obtain.

We can retrieve the existing configuration, prepare its migration to the newer PNOZ m B0 or PNOZ m B1 generation and plan the upgrade with minimal impact on production.

You don't have to modernize everything

The goal is not to replace everything that is old. The goal is to identify what could actually stop your production in the event of a failure.

Modernize

Critical component with limited availability.

Plan

The system is still operational, but modernization should be prepared for a planned shutdown.

Monitor

Replacement parts are available and the operational risk is acceptable.

Don't wait for a failure

We will assess your existing system and recommend the first steps towards its modernization.
